SRTAC was founded by Michael De Witt. Michael served as a Police Officer for a large metropolitan Police Department in Southern California for nearly 20 years. Michael's assignments included, Patrol, Gang Suppression Team, Undercover Gang Investigations, Part time SWAT Team, Full time SWAT team. During his career, he participated in hundreds of tactical operations. Some of these operations include;
Michael holds several instructor certifications. He has prepared hundreds of lesson plans and courses of instruction and has been the lead instructor for numerous disciplines. To include; Firearms, Close Quarters Clearance, Emergency Rescues, Hostage Rescue, Breaching, Night Vision Operations, Tactical Surveillance Intervention, Diversionary Devices, Less Lethal Munitions, UC Rescues and Maritime Operations.
Michael has conducted training and operations working as a liaison between multiple Sheriffs Departments, Municipalities, DOD, DOJ, Secret Service and Private training entities. Michael also worked with his team testing and evaluating equipment and tactics. Michael has been awarded several commendations including 3 medals for valor and a life saving medal. One medal of valor from the Governor of the state of California. Michael has been selected as SWAT Officer of the year by his team. Additionally, he has been awarded Tactical Officer of the year by the California Tactical Officers Association.
In Michaels words, "I have trained with and received training from the best this world has to offer. I want to share that knowledge and always seek to help others improve their craft."
SRTAC instructors come from a diverse background from Law Enforcement and the Military. Our Cadre are experts in each discipline offered. We firmly believe in our expertise and the transfer of knowledge. That is why SRTAC only uses the highest qualified individuals.
